千畳敷

和歌山県白浜町にある砂岩で侵食を受けて珍しい地形をつくりあげてできている岩盤の千畳敷。畳を千枚敷ける広さからその名前とか。日本夕陽百景。

Senjojiki in Shirahama, Wakayama, a rare geologic formation created by the erosion of sandstone.
The name indicates its area of about 1000 tatami mats. One of Japan’s 100 best sunset spots.
