南紀熊野ジオパークの中でも、あまり知られていない穴場。白浜町の志原海岸近くにある大きな洞窟や海食壁は迫力あり必見です。化石も多く見られるここは、志原の千畳敷としても有名です。
The Shihara Kaigan coast in Shirahama town, Japan, is a well kept secret among the Nanki Kumano geoparks. It’s also known as Shihara Senjojiki, after the large rock formation near the center of Shirahama. The large cave and the ocean-eroded cliff are its top sights, and you can also hunt for fossils visible in the rock.
